It’s another River Valley Conference road trip for a meet Thursday for the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys wrestling team when they travel to Monticello for an RVC triangular against Iowa City Regina and the home Panthers.

The Hawks are 2-4 in duals this season, beating WACO and Highland at the Washington County duals, but falling to the home Demons and dropping three in a conference quad at Dyersville-Beckman last week to West Branch, Tipton and the home Blazers. At Washington, Peyton Fox, Max Kipp and Burke Berry were 3-0. At Beckman, Quinn Callahan and Tommy Miller were undefeated. Saturday at the Jeremy Fulk Classic in New London, Berry won the individual championship at 285lbs as the Hawks were fourth as a team. Berry is the lone ranked Golden Hawk in the lineup at No. 12 in Class 2A at 285 according to Iawrestle.com with a 6-0 record.

Iowa City Regina is 3-6 in duals this year. They went 1-5 at the Jesup dual tournament last weekend, beating AGWSR, but falling to Central Springs, Clear Lake, Iowa Valley, Lake Mills and the home J-Hawks. The Regals have one ranked wrestler in their lineup with Will Aitchison No. 7 at 175lbs. The Regals beat the Hawks at this event last year 48-28.

Monticello is 2-1 in duals this year, with wins over Durant and Camanche, and a loss to Anamosa in a quad the storm hosted last week. They were seventh at their home tournament last weekend. The Panthers beat the Hawks last year 45-33.
