
The Washington Demons won two of the three boys’ wrestling duals they hosted last night. Washington responded to a 56-15 loss to Anamosa by defeating Center Point-Urbana 54-28 and beating Central Elkader 57-24.
Among the highlights for the Demons was senior Aaron Boone continuing his undefeated season by beating all three opponents he wrestled by fall at 132 pounds. Sophomore Blaine Rees won twice by pin at 175 lbs for Washington, as did junior Rudy Wolfe at 285.
Senior Nate Edmonds picked up an overtime 9-6 victory before winning a 12-6 decision at 120, while the Demons also got pins to win from sophomores Mark Chenoweth and Greyson Hartman at 165 and 215, respectively.
Jude Carter’s one pin at 144 lbs helped Washington improve to 9-2 in team duals this season. The Demons will have their first Southeast Conference dual of the winter when they next wrestle tomorrow night at Fairfield.
