Over 75 local high school students went by bus to Kirkwood Community College’s main campus in Cedar Rapids for an immersive college visit. The visit was held November 15th. The day began with an informative session led by Kirkwood’s Admissions team, where students learned about the wide range of programs available at Kirkwood Community College after high school. They explored everything from financial aid options to the ins and outs of college expectations. Student ambassadors stepped in to offer personal advice, sharing their own experiences and tips for thriving in college life. Representatives from Iowa State University, University of Iowa, and University of Northern Iowa were available to showcase transfer pathways for students planning to start at Kirkwood and continue onto a four-year university. Students from Washington, Highland, WACO, and Lone Tree high schools were in attendance.
