The Hillcrest Academy Raven baseball and softball teams travel to Mediapolis Monday for a Southeast Iowa Superconference doubleheader with the Bulldogs and Bullettes. The Raven boys are 6-1 this season after a 9-3 win at Highland on Friday, where Lawson Schrock belted a home run to lead the way. On the season, Hillcrest is hitting .272 as a team with a .419OBP and .354 slug, with 62 runs on 56 hits, with 44 walks and 55 strikeouts. Individually, Rowan Miller is hitting .545 with a team best 12 hits and 10 driven in. Seth Ours has scored a team high 12 times. On the mound, the Ravens have a staff ERA of 1.74 with a .227 opponent average, on 44 hits, 12 earned runs, 12 walks and 47 strikeouts. Ours is 3-1 in 19 innings with a 1.84ERA. Liam Schrock, Rowan Miller and Phoenix Anderson are a combined 3-0 with an ERA under two.

Mediapolis is 7-4 on the year. They were 8-0 winners last time out over West Burlington. On the season, the Bulldogs hit .257 collectively, with a .375OBP and .318 slug, with 59 runs on 75 hits, 50 walks and 51Ks, led by Jackson Hutcheson with a .457 average, 16 hits and 13 runs scored. Lance Ludens has driven in a team best nine. The MEPO team ERA is 2.36 with a .142 opponent average on 48 hits, 25 earned runs, 40 walks and 87 strikeouts. Ludens, Max Griffin and Kyler Crow are 6-2 with a 3.30ERA. Mediapolis has won 17 of the last 25 in the series, but the Ravens took last year’s contest 9-6.

The Hillcrest girls are 3-5 this year after a 12-0 loss to Highland in three innings on the road Friday. The Raven girls are hitting .299 as a team, with a .446OBP and .408 slug with 61 runs on 52 hits, with 46 walks and 61 strikeouts. Individually, Claire Withrow is batting .579 with 11 total hits to lead. Malia Yoder has a team best 10 RBI, and Stavia Miller and Morgyn Nafziger have each scored a team high nine times. In the circle, Yoder has worked 38 innings with a .244 opponent average, allowing 55 hits, 31 earned runs, 29 walks and striking out 54.

Mediapolis is 4-2 this season and coming off of a 12-0 loss to West Burlington Notre Dame last time out. The Bullettes hit .480 as a team with a .527OBP and .635 slug with 57 runs on 71 hits, with 14 walks and 19 strikeouts. Payton Harris leads with an .857 average and 12 total hits. Avery Crear has scored 12 times and Avalynn Prall has driven in eight. Maddy Carter has thrown 25 innings with a 2.27ERA, and .172 opponent average with 16 hits, eight earned runs, 20 walks and 32 strikeouts. MEPO has won 23 of the last 30 in the series, including last year’s game 14-5. Baseball is at 5:30 with softball at 7p.m. tonight in Mediapolis.
