A pair of Fredonia residents were arrested and charged this week following a narcotics investigation by the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office and Columbus Junction Police Department. The two agencies conducted a narcotics warrant at 1201 8th Avenue on Wednesday, resulting in the seizure of 24 grams of methamphetamine, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana as well as drug packaging, and paraphernalia. 

As a result of these findings, 65-year-old Merril Shepherd and 38-year-old Nicole Harris were arrested and transported to the Louisa County Jail. Merril was charged with possession of meth with intent to deliver, gathering where controlled substances are used, and drug tax stamp violation, all class D felonies. He was additionally charged with two counts of misdemeanor possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. Harris was charged with gathering where controlled substances are used, a class D felony, and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. 

Also assisting in the residential search warrant was Louisa County Ambulance.
