Both the Keota Eagles and Sigourney Savages put together good showings Thursday at the Belle Plaine Boys’ Track & Field Invitational. Keota was able to capture a Class B championship in the sprint medley, as their relay team posted the top time of three minutes 52 seconds.

Eagle freshman Ayden Galindo was second in the Class B division in the high jump, while Jacob Libe was third in the 110-meter hurdles and fellow sophomore Gavin Sieren took fourth in the long jump. Keota also had fourth-place finishes in the 4-by-100 and 4-by-400-meter relays, as well as finishing fifth in the sprint medley.

Sigourney was led by Troy Klett’s runner-up finish in the Class A 1,600 meters. The sophomore was also fifth in the 3,200, as was classmate Wyatt Wehr in the 400. Caden Clarahan was third in the 110 hurdles and fourth in the shot put, while fellow junior Jayden Thompson also finished fourth in the discus toss. The Savages would end up fifth in the 4-by-100, the distance medley and the shuttle hurdles relay.
