The Washington County Board of Supervisors had a discussion in regard to an update to the Washington County Ambulance Services Employee Manual. After some discussion between Supervisor Richard Young and Supervisor Jack Seward Jr, Seward described the update in question during the meeting, “The policy that is currently in place has five items in the mandatory overtime fill process, and the fifth item actually pertains to the emergency fill. So we separated the emergency fill language from the mandatory overtime. And I think it satisfies everything that we need. Auditor’s office, payroll department, I think this is what we need to do.” The amendment passed with a vote of four to one with Supervisor Young voting no. The update covers emergency shift fill or mandatory overtime for employees who are called back in to work with 24 hours or less notice, they will be compensated for hours worked at double their hourly rate.
