The Lone Tree E-Sports Team was in Marshalltown last week participating in the Fall State Competition. The Lions took fourth place for the game SMITE, improving on their sixth-place finish at state last spring.
Beginning the competition as the fifth-seed, Lone Tree defeated fourth-ranked Lake Mills in the first round. They would fall to eventual champion Greene County in the second round. The consolation bracket saw the Lions win another match over West Delaware before dropping their final contest with New London.
Helping to capture the fourth-place finish for Lone Tree were William Rockafellow, Dominic Graap, Carter Lisk, Vaughn Judge, and Lukas Fuhrmeister. The high school E-Sports season will resume in the spring. In the meantime, coach Jessica Howard is leading the first winter season with Lone Tree Middle School students.
