The Hillcrest Academy boys golf team wrapped up a perfect regular season Monday with a dominant Southeast Iowa Superconference dual win over visiting Lone Tree in Kalona. The Ravens added the exclamation point to their campaign by a 157-231 score, their lowest nine hole total of the year. Freshman Rowan Miller scored medalist honors with a round of 37 that included a pair of birdies. Other scores included Luke Schrock 38, Jace Rempel and Seth Ours with 41s, Josiah Beachy 53 and Ethan Yoder 90. Hillcrest seniors Jace Rempel and Josiah Beachy spoke with KCII Sports about the team accomplishments this season and their mindset entering the playoffs. Rempel said, “It feels really good to be able to pull through and win but, it’s important to keep that leverage and keep our heads going into sectionals. Keep playing well.”

Beachy added, “This group is pretty special. We’re really tight. We all play all of the sports together. We’re really good friends with each other. It’s a really fun group to be a part of.”

Leading the way for the Lions was Oliver Altenhofen with a 48. Other scores included Dominic Graap 57, Lukas Furmeister 59, Braden Viers 67, and Cade Willoz 71. Both teams now prepare for sectionals Wednesday at English Valleys.
