This Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. The goal of the day is to inform the general public about the dangers of medication abuse while also providing a safe, easy, and responsible way to dispose of prescription drugs. Local law enforcement in the KCII listening area is on hand to help out.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will collaborate with NuCara Pharmacy to organize an event for National Prescription Drug-Take-Back at the Fairfield NuCara location at 2000 S. Main Street. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring any unused medications, vape pens, or other e-cigarettes devices with you. The batteries must be removed before the devices can be delivered.

Other pharmacies and law enforcement agencies in the KCII Listening area have also partnered with local pharmacies. Visit www.dea.gov to find out where you can drop off your unused medication this Saturday.
