While the season has come to a close, WACO Warriors volleyball made quite an impact this year, particularly when it came to ending a rally right when it started. As a team, WACO finished fourth in the state in Class 1A and seventh across all classes in serving aces. The Warriors had 304 aces this season, one of only eight teams in the state to cross the 300 mark.

Maybe the biggest reason for WACO’s serving success was outside hitter Marie Farmer. The junior put up 97 aces this season, currently the second-most by any individual player across the state. She’s 10 behind the top spot, with two players from a North Tama team only seven behind, but Farmer is guaranteed to finish top-five in 1A and across all classes in aces.

A total of six WACO players had at least 31 aces this season, including 55 for senior setter Grace Coble and 46 for senior libero Jocelyn Fulton. The Warriors finished 27-7 and were runner-up in the Super Conference North before losing in the 1A Region 8 semifinals Monday evening.
