The seventh-ranked Columbus Community Wildcats provided all the homecoming fireworks you could want on the football field, piling up a season-high scoring mark in a 71-14 victory over North Mahaska Friday night. Columbus continued its unbeaten season by taking a 43-0 lead into halftime and never slowing down. Junior running back Kaden Amigon needed only eight rushing attempts to compile a whopping 270 yards and five touchdowns. Sophomore Riley Kaalberg and juniors Cole Storm and Trenton Hoback scored rushing TDs, and senior quarterback Jeff Hoback’s only pass attempt was a three-yard scoring toss to Trenton Hoback.

Kaalberg led the Wildcat defense with 8 tackles, including two tackles for loss. The sophomore also ran a kickoff back 73 yards for a score as Columbus Community improves to 6-0. The Wildcats travel to North Cedar for their last road game of the regular season Friday night.
