shelter

Henry County has long been in need of an animal shelter, and after closing on a property site, the dream is close to becoming a reality.

Located at 2205 E. Washington Street in Mount Pleasant, the facility was obtained by non-profit group, All God’s Creatures (AGC). AGC hopes to finish renovations and open the shelter next year.

AGC’s mission is, “to educate and collaborate with communities on the plight of our domestic animals”. While a tentative opening is still in the works, the organization, along with Henry County look forward to finally having a facility where stray animals can be cared for.

AGC plans to continue fundraising projects until building renovations are complete. In the meantime, the group is finding other ways to help animals in the community, such as their trap, neuter, and release program for feral cats.
