A much improved program in 2022 was rewarded with plenty of postseason recognition with the Columbus Community softball team having six players on the Southeast Iowa Super Conference all conference teams.

Lily Coil and Jocelyn Fulton headlined the selections being named to the first team. Coil developed into one of the most complete players in the conference by leading the league with a .571 average and .645 on base percentage. The freshman brought in 21 runs, had 44 hits including seven triples, stole 35 bags, and was second in the division with a 2.46 ERA in 63 innings in the circle. No one had more bombs on the year than Fulton’s eight home runs and her .500 average ranked third. The junior managed 16 RBI and scored 28 times while supporting a .985 slugging percentage.

Second team selections included Libby White and Sera Vela. White provided plenty of pitching depth with a 2.87 ERA in 63 innings and the senior got it done at the plate with a .440 on base percentage and 16 RBI. Vela recorded a .386 average, had 32 hits, and scored 24 times. Honorable mention selections included Kennedy Woepking and Victoria Howell. Woepking had a .345 OBP as an eighth grader and was the third option in the circle with a 3.60 ERA in 23 innings. Howell drove home 13 runners and scored seven times.

The Wildcats had their most wins since 2014 with a 12-13 overall mark and finished third in the north division.
