A year of growth on the hardwood for the Highland girls translated to four players being recognized with postseason awards by the Southeast Iowa Super Conference.

Abbi Stransky received a first team all conference selection in the north division. The junior did a little bit of everything for the Huskies finishing top five in the league in blocks, steals, field goals made, free throw percentage, and defensive rebounds. Despite standing at just 5’6’’, Stransky led the division in blocks with 41. She paced the red and white with 12.8 points a night and also recorded 8.1 boards, 3.7 steals, and 2.9 assists a game. Sarah Burton was named to the second team. No one was more efficient shooting the rock than the sophomore, as her 58 field goal percentage led the league. The 5’9’’ post player was the team’s top rebounder averaging nine a contest and registering 11.5 points. Honorable mention selections included Dani Laughlin and Jessica Kraus. Laughlin dropped in 34 threes on the season, finished with 9.5 points a game, dished out 49 total assists, and created 70 steals. Kraus averaged 5.1 points and 3.7 boards.

Highland finished the season 12-11, a 10 win improvement from last winter.
