The final tune-up before the playoffs is here for the Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves and Hillcrest Academy Raven boys basketball teams when they meet Tuesday in Winfield. The Wolves come into the game with an overall record of 18-2 and are trying to close out a perfect conference season. They are champions of the north division of the Southeast Iowa Superconference with a 15-0 record. They dropped the championship game of the Superconference Shootout to New London Saturday 54-40, despite an Abram Edwards 11 point, 11 rebound double double and 19 points from Cam Buffington. On the season the Wolves score 56 each night and shoot 50% from the floor with 30 rebounds, 16 assists, nine steals and 10 turnovers per game. Buffington leads WMU at 20 points, 11 rebounds and two steals per game.

Hillcrest comes into the night with a 14-5 record. They dropped the third place game of the Superconference Shootout Saturday in Wayland to the WACO Warriors 60-22 with Grant Bender scoring 10 points. On the season, the Ravens score 51 points per game and shoot 48% from the floor with 24 rebounds, 13 assists, eight steals and 14 turnovers per night. Bender leads the Ravens with 18 points and six boards per night. Luke Schrock has a team best four rebounds and three assists per night. These two teams met on January 7th in Kalona with the Wolves winning 42-33. Hillcrest has won 25 of the last 29 meetings.
