The 2022 portion of the schedule commences tonight for the Lone Tree basketball teams when they open the second half of the season with a non-conference bout at Midland High School. 

The Lion girls sit at 4-6 coming off of the holiday break and were last in action December 21st when they edged out Columbus 41-40. Kasey Chown is the leader on the season with 12.6 points and 8.3 rebounds a night. The Eagles are 3-6, average 34 points a game, and Amaya Terrell accounts for 7.6 of them on 27% shooting. Midland won a close meeting last year by a 50-46 final. 

The Lone Tree boys are 2-6 while averaging 39 points and giving up 49. Adam Knock has recorded 9.1 points a game and shoots at a 45% clip. Midland is 3-5 in the Tri-Rivers Conference while registering 37 points a contest and giving up 62. Cale Crist puts up 9.3 points a game. The Eagles won last year’s showdown by a 51-49 score. 

The girls’ game gets underway at 5:30 p.m. tonight with the boys to follow in Wyoming.
