The Hillcrest Academy Ravens battled a field filled with larger schools and warm weather conditions Thursday at the Bud Williams Cross Country Invitational at the Iowa City Kickers Complex. In the girls race the top Raven finish was Leah Bontrager 42nd with a time of 23:29. Other Hillcrest runners included Morgyn Nafziger 88th, Delaney Shaw 89th, and Julia Boller 91st. After her race Nafziger spoke with KCII Sports about the night. “On this course, my goal tonight was to get a new PR (Personal Record). It’s mostly flat here. The toughest part of the course is the one steep hill that you have to run twice and I was happy with how I got through that.”

On the boys side top Hillcrest finisher was Collin Miller 86th with a time of 22:10. Other Ravens included Quang Huynh 98th, Garrett Hurst 99th and Isaac Lybeck 100th. Hillcrest will next be on the course Monday when they host a home meet.
