A road trip to Centerville was in store for the Sigourney-Keota football team in week three and the Cobras kept their strong start going with a 42-7 victory over the Big Reds.

The Cobras scored a pair of touchdowns in each of the first two quarters to take a 28-7 lead into half and continued to pile on out of break. The S-K defense held the Big Reds (2-1) to 54 yards rushing and they completed just eight of 26 passes. Cole Clarahan had an interception for the Cobras and Evan Dawson recorded 4.5 tackles. Cade Molyneux was a bruiser once again offensively with 191 rushing yards and three scores while Levi Crawford added 122 yards and reached pay dirt twice on the ground. Colten Clarahan was efficient through the air completing four of eight throws for 102 yards and a 53 yard scoring strike to Crawford.

Head Coach Jared Jensen tells KCII Sports it was all about the defense. “They stepped up big time. Centerville has been scoring 42 points a game and to hold them to seven is tremendous. We took control of their offensive line with our guys upfront and caused problems all night.”

Sigourney-Keota improves to 3-0 and they return home Friday against Pleasantville (2-1) for homecoming.
