Not only did Washington softball seniors produce on the diamond this summer, but a couple of them were recently recognized for their work in the classroom by being named academic all state.
Emma Herr and Kellie Dallmeyer were named academic all state softball by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association. To qualify a player must have a cumulative GPA of 3.85 or higher. Dallmeyer broke many records throughout her time as a Demon and this year led the team with a .529 batting average and 43 RBI. Herr played an impressive first base defensively and recorded a .439 on base percentage at the dish.
The duo helped the Demons finish the 2021 season with a 20-17 overall record.
