keota-fun-days-2021

After a year off due to COVID-19, Keota Fun Days is back. Activities get underway tomorrow with a horse shoe tournament near The Roost downtown at 6 p.m. On Saturday, the Keota Fun Days Fun Run begins at 8 a.m. with the starting line at City Hall. Following the run will be the kids parade at 10, the grand parade at 11, and activities kick off at 1 downtown including a bean bag tournament, dunk tank and kids’ games. The Keota Community Club will host a free ice cream social at 2 p.m., the kids’ pedal pull will be at 3,and the Keota Alumni Reunion is at Wooden Wheel Vineyards at 6 p.m. This week Keota Community Club President Lori Hammes spoke with KCII news about the preparation for the event and the excitement of having it back after missing last year. “We have been working on this for quite a few months now. We have six different committees and chairs. We have a lot of wonderful people that have volunteered to help with things and an incredible list of sponsors. The main difference this year from previous years is that we condensed most of the activities to one day, Saturday. We weren’t sure what was going to happen with COVID and we thought it was easier dealing with changes to one day than it was over multiple days. For the most part everything is on Saturday, we do have one event Friday night.”

KCII will be broadcasting live from Keota Fun Days Saturday from 7:30-11 a.m. with the Big Red Radio on scene as part of the Big Red Radio Summer Town Tour.
