A Washington resident’s favorite scratch ticket was sold out, but she found luck with a different one, winning $100,000.

Forty-nine year-old Jessica Cooper won the fourth top prize in the Iowa Lottery’s “$100,000 Cash” scratch game. Cooper says she bought a ticket after her overnight shift ended at Casey’s in Washington, “And I clocked out and bought a ticket and went home, scratched my ticket, and I about fell over.”

Cooper says when she immediately called her husband Raymond to share the news he thought she was pulling his leg, “And so I took a picture of it and I’m like ‘See? I’m not lying.’ He definitely believed me then.”

She claimed her prize at the Clive headquarters Monday. The mother of four and her husband plan to use the winnings to put a down payment on a house and buy a second vehicle to have more room for their teenagers.
