Plenty of postseason recognition is expected for a conference champ and that was the case for the Keota boys’ basketball team in 2020-21. Five Eagle players received an All-Conference selection by the South Iowa Cedar League for their work on the hardwood this winter.

Luke Hammen and Carson Sprouse were the headliners being named to the first team. Hammen’s 17 points per game ranked fourth in the East division and he also hauled in 4.9 rebounds a night. The senior was a marksman from deep, as he knocked down a league best 46% of his threes and made 61 on the season. Sprouse tallied 15.9 points an outing to rank fifth in the division and also made his fair share of threes with 51 at a 33% clip. He created a team-best 68 steals and dished out 56 assists.

Brady Duwa was named a second team selection. The senior was a stat stuffer with 8.6 points a contest, 5.7 boards, 62 total assists, 55 steals, and 33 blocks. Bryce Greiner and Sam Sieren were recognized as honorable mention. Greiner added 6.7 points and 4.3 rebounds a game while Sieren shot 48% from the floor and added five points a night.

The Eagles capped off their second straight 20-win season with a 20-3 overall record.
