In a battle of Warriors, it was the Van Buren girls’ basketball team that were the superior Warriors on Thursday night when they downed WACO 58-48 in Southeast Iowa Super Conference action.

WACO got the offense going early and led 30-29 at the break. A 17-9 Van Buren third quarter turned the tide and WACO could never regain control. Isabel Manning hit 10 of 20 shots to finish with a game-high 27 points. Grace Coble led the blue and white with 16 points and Ellah Kissell added 11. 

Van Buren improves to 12-3 and WACO drops to 5-10. Both the WACO boys and girls travel to West Burlington tonight.
