A pair of businesses in the KCII listening area have been selected to receive Coronavirus Relief funds. The Coronavirus Relief Registered Apprenticeship Incentive Program is in place to increase the number of registered apprenticeship training programs in Iowa high schools, non-profits, small businesses, post-secondary education institutions and the healthcare industry. Kuenster Heating and Air Conditioning in Kalona will receive around $17,000 while Bovard Studios Inc. in Fairfield will receive just over $48,000. Grant funds can be used for things like purchasing equipment, tools, simulators, related training instruction materials, updated curriculum or other items necessary to expand apprenticeship offerings.
