sigourney-3

The Sigourney and Keota rivalry returned to the volleyball court on Monday with the Savages earning area bragging rights in a sweep at home.

Sigourney enjoyed home cooking with set wins of 25-14, 25-10, and 25-17. Joselyn Abell led the team with seven kills, six digs, and four aces.

Head Coach Chris Carter tells KCII Sports this was a big bounce back night for the team. “We did a good job on offense and our hits were evenly distributed. We were able to pass to our setter on free balls and we were aggressive. We got a lot of kids into play and we were able to change up our defense a little bit after our performance on Saturday.”

Macie McDonald led the Eagles with five assists while Nicole Clarahan had two kills and nine digs.

Sigourney improves to 4-9 overall and hosts Tri-County on Monday. Keota is 2-7 and they travel to face the Trojans this evening.
