A man was injured after wrecking an unregistered homemade motorized minibike over the weekend. According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, at about 2:19 p.m. Saturday the wreck happened near the intersection of Fir Avenue and 210th Street. The driver was 53-year-old Samuel Clarke of Keota.

It was determined that the minibike was northbound on Fir Avenue when Clarke lost control and crashed it. He was thrown from the vehicle and injured. Clarke was taken by Washington County Ambulance to the Washington County Hospital Emergency Room.

Officers determined that Clarke possesses an Iowa operator’s status of barred: habitual offender. Charges are pending for driving while barred, failure to maintain control, no insurance accident related, and operation of an unregistered vehicle.
