As the Demons celebrate homecoming this week, spectators are reminded of COVID-19 safety precautions at area sporting events. Cross Country teams will be going to Mt. Pleasant today and social distancing and masks are recommended for spectators. Middle school football fans are required to wear masks and social distancing is expected at Ottumwa today. Eighth grade volleyball fans are required to wear masks at Fairfield on Thursday.

At Spirit Night Thursday at Case Field, where the homecoming king and queen will be crowned, spectators are encouraged to wear masks and social distance. On Saturday, there is limited spectator seating for volleyball at Cedar Rapids Jefferson.

As of Monday, Washington County’s 14-day COVID-19 positivity rate was 8.1% with 432 confirmed cases, 11 deaths, and 325 people recovered.
