The Mid-Prairie baseball team saw their five game winning streak snapped Tuesday at the hands of the Solon Spartans 6-4 in extra innings in Wellman. Solon built an early 4-0 lead on a pair of runs in each of the first and second innings. The Hawks answered the bell with a two spot in second and fourth to even the game at four. That’s where things stayed through regulation with the Spartans breaking through for a pair in the top of the eighth before closing down Mid-Prairie in the bottom half to seal the win. With the loss, Mid-Prairie is now 7-3 and will travel to West Branch on Thursday.
