As 4th of July celebrations are set to kick off this weekend, the City of Wellman saw multiple complaints of fireworks this past weekend. Residents are reminded of the Wellman City Code when it comes to fireworks usage.  The code states that only after written permission from city officials, only those with city agencies, fair associations, amusement parks, and other organizations and groups of individuals may set off fireworks with a competent operator. Private use of fireworks is not permitted within city limits. City officials ask citizens to call the safety center if they see or hear fireworks within city limits.
