The No. 10 ranked Mid-Prairie baseball team suffered their second straight setback of the week falling to visiting Tipton in River Valley Conference play Thursday 14-7. The Tigers came out hot, scoring five times in the top of the first. The Golden Hawks answered back with three runs of their own to pull within two, but the Tigers stayed hot. Tipton scored three more times in the second and twice more in the third to build a 10-3 lead. Mid-Prairie scored twice in the third and a single run in the fourth to get within 10-6 but the Tigers did enough at the plate with four runs over the last three innings to hold off the Hawks. Tipton used 14 hits and five Mid-Prairie errors to key their big offensive night. The Tigers also committed five errors. Aidan Rath led Mid-Prairie with three hits and two RBI. Brody Miller threw two innings in relief. With the loss, the Golden Hawks are 2-2 on the year and travel to North Cedar tonight.
