The Mid-Prairie School District will waive book fees and keep nutrition fees at the same rate for the 2020-2021 school year. This is to further help families within the district who have been affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. Superintendent Mark Schneider told the school board at Monday’s meeting that waiving book fees will result in approximately $50,000 less income for the district. During a normal school year, book rental fees are $50 per student or $150 maximum per family. Schneider also pushed to keep nutrition prices the same, but says prices might be increased if needed during next school year. The current nutrition fees are $1.90 per day for a student breakfast and $3.15 per day for a student lunch. The school board unanimously passed the measure and it will go into effect next school year.
