Iowa now has 124 cases of COVID-19 confirmed in the state as of Tuesday and at least one of those is a nurse. In Tuesday’s new positive results at least one is a nurse employed in Iowa City. The individual is recovering in self-isolation. Washington County now has four confirmed cases of novel coronavirus, Henry County has one, and Johnson County has 37. The Iowa Department of Public Health has identified community spread of the respiratory virus in Iowa and urges Iowans to practice social distancing. People should stay home as much as possible and when going out maintain a distance of six feet from other people. Also, continue to wash hands frequently with soap and water, cover coughs and sneezes, and disinfect high-traffic touched areas like doorknobs, phones, and countertops.
