Another winter storm system will move through the Midwest Wednesday into Thursday likely leaving snow along its path, according to the National Weather Service. The forecast calls for approximately 2.5 inches of snow in Washington.
Washington County Emergency Management Coordinator Marissa Reisen reminds people to drive cautiously, slow down, take your time, and make sure you can see out of your vehicle’s windows, “Clean off the windshields and just take the time to let your car warm up. It’s not necessarily about the car running better when it’s warm, it’s about letting your car warm up and get some of the snow off and get some of the ice off and just be better prepared. And if it’s snowing or raining, if your wipers on make sure your headlights are on even if it’s sunny.”
Following the snow, temperatures are expected to drop in the area. The expected high temperature in Washington on Thursday is expected to be in the single digits with lows below zero degrees. Listen to KCII for weather updates.
