

Two area schools met up for non-conference action in Sigourney on Monday and the Savages split a basketball doubleheader with WACO.
A fast start propelled the Savage girls to a 48-30 victory over the Warriors. The tally was 12-6 after eight minutes and 25-12 at the break when Sigourney cruised in the second half. Megan Stuhr had another big night with 24 points and eight steals. Kaylee Weber provided 15 points and 11 rebounds. Morgan Graber had contributions from Morgan Graber with 10 points, eight blocks, and five boards. Sigourney buried HLV last night 59-11 and improved their record to 8-3 while WACO is 2-10.
The Warrior boys returned the favor and stayed unbeaten with a 72-34 win. WACO had 12 players score led by Nik Coble with 22 on 11 of 17 shooting and 12 rebounds. Pietro Vannini added 13 points and Drew Kissell recorded 11. WACO improves to 11-0 and Sigourney is now 5-5 after responding with a 36-30 victory over HLV last night.
