As the new year begins expect many offices and businesses to be closed. City halls, county courthouses, post offices, and banks will be closed Wednesday. Also, the U.S. Postal Service will not be delivering mail during the federal holiday January 1. The Washington Public Library, the Washington Chamber of Commerce, and the Washington County Mini Bus will also be closed in observation of the holiday.
