The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk wrestling team was on the mat for the first time this season Tuesday when they traveled to Eddyville-Blakesburg to take on the Rockets and English Valleys. The Hawks opened the night by falling to Eddyville-Blakesburg 54-30. The Hawks got wins in contested matches from Mose Yoder at 113 by pin, Cael Garvey at 170 by fall, Josh Wallington at 220 by fall and Gannon Callahan at 285 by fall.

The Hawks got on the winning side in the nightcap, beating the Bears by a 46-33 score. Mid-Prairie got wins in contested matches from Owen Trimpe by major decision at 145lbs, Vinny Bowlin by fall at 160, Cory Allen by fall at 182, Isaac Boucher by fall at 195 and Gannon Callahan by fall at 285. With the split, Mid-Prairie is 1-1 on the year and will next be in action Thursday at home when they host a quadrangular with Highland, Tipton and West Branch.
