Two KCII area schools meet up in Lone Tree tonight, as the Lions host Hillcrest Academy for a girl/boy basketball doubleheader.

The Lion girls are off to a blazing 3-0 start including a pair of wins over Highland. Holley Johnson is playing like the experienced senior she is, as she averages 18 points a night. The Ravens are 1-1 and are riding high after a 34-28 victory over Tri-County on Tuesday. Esther Hughes had a big game that night with 18 points including a trio of threes.

The nightcap marks the first game of the season for both squads. The Lions were 8-11 a season ago, but bring back some familiar faces including leading scorer Keegan Edwards and his 16.1 points a game. The Ravens were 13-7 and they also return their leading scorer in Eli Ours, as he averaged 13.6 points an outing.

The girls’ game gets underway at 6 p.m. with the boys to follow in Lone Tree. Listen to the conference action on FM 106.1 KCII starting at 5:30 p.m.
