Longtime WACO Junior High football coach Dwaine Alvine was on the field at the UNI-Dome last week. Alvine was recognized as the winner of the Don Taft Award for 8-Man football in 2019 by the Iowa Football Coaches Association. The award is given to the coach of the year in each class. Alvine is the first coach from the KCII listening area to receive the award. The award is named in honor of long time Mount Pleasant Coach Don Taft.
