The first step in WACO’s playoff journey was checked off the list on Tuesday, as the Warrior volleyball team swept area foe Highland in a class 1A regional game.

The Warriors defended their home court in a big way winning 25-4, 25-8, and 25-12. Lona Farrier and Morgan Graber were an effective one-two punch finishing with 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Laney Graber set up most of the offense with 29 assists and Aubri Garnsey managed 21 digs. It was another efficient day serving for WACO, as they finished 68 of 72 with 14 aces.

WACO improves to 22-11 and advance to the second round to play North Mahaska at home on Monday. Highland concludes the year 3-20 and they say goodbye to seniors Haley Sweeting, Alyssa Brase, Rafiela Selmer, Emily Streb, and Kaylee Rath.
