The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls cross country teams are ready for action tonight when they travel to Solon. The Hawks have been off for a little over a week since a meet at Monticello on September 14th. At Monticello, the Golden Hawk girls took home the team championship while the boys finished in fifth place. The Mid-Prairie girls are currently ranked No. 1 in class 2A according to the latest poll from the Iowa Track and Field Coaches Association. There are four Hawks in the top 30 individual rankings this week, led by Marie Hostetler at No. 1. Abbagail Evans is No. 11, Mitzi Evans No. 13 and Sidney Yoder No. 29. The Mid-Prairie boys are ranked No. 8 in this week’s 2A poll, up five spots from 13th a week ago. The Golden Hawk boys have one ranked runner in their lineup with Jamison Stutzman checking in at No. 29.

Joining the Golden Hawks are this event are Bettendorf, Central DeWitt, Clear Creek Amana, Davenport North, Iowa City Liberty, Mount Vernon, North Scott, Tipton, West Liberty and Williamsburg. Action begins tonight at 4:30 at the Solon Nature and Recreation Center.
