About eight percent of Iowa’s corn has reached maturity. The U.S. Department of Agriculture states that’s 13 days behind average and nearly three weeks behind last year. In the southeast district nine percent of corn is mature and 58% has dented.

Soybeans are beginning to drop leaves. Across the state 96% of soybeans have set pods, 40% are coloring, and five percent are dropping leaves. In the southeast district 91% of the soybean crop has set pods, 22% are coloring, and two percent are dropping leaves. Overall, Iowa’s soybeans are over two weeks behind average.
