They say rising to the top is hard, but staying on top is harder. The Highland football team is coming off of a historical season in 2018 and they look to prove that it was not a one-year wonder.

The Huskies finished 8-3 and won their first playoff game in school history. In order for repeated success, they will have to retool losing 10 seniors to graduation including do-it-all quarterback Trey Lasek with over 2,000 yards of total offense. Connor Grinstead will take over under center after limited action in his freshman year. Having a flashy receiver in Mason McFarland on the outside will help the quarterback transition, as he is the leading receiver back after 367 yards and five touchdowns a year ago. Cole Adamson will be in the backfield and build off of 401 rushing yards. Senior Zach Lasek and his 6’7’’ frame will lead the line and he had 51 tackles defensively. The Huskies allowed just 17 points a night last year.

Highland opens the year next week at Columbus.
