For the first time in nine months, Iowa has drought conditions. An area of eastern Iowa is abnormally dry, including Washington, Johnson, Henry, Louisa, Des Moines, Muscatine, Scott, Cedar, Clinton, Jones, and Jackson Counties. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 11.23% of Iowa is abnormally dry, including the eastern Iowa area, as well as two pockets in western Iowa. The last time Iowa had any areas of drought conditions was in October of 2018.
