Two KCII area baseball teams will try to punch their ticket to a district title game when IMS and Highland meet up in Burlington tonight for a class 1A semifinal contest.

Highland is 13-10 on the season and qualified for today’s game after an 8-4 victory over Cardinal on Saturday. Dan Burton was a big reason why throwing a complete game eight hitter and giving up just one earned run. Bill Laughlin had a pair of hits and two RBI. Jacob Leonard leads the Huskies at the dish with a .517 season batting average. IMS is 12-7 and they defeated New London in the first round by an 8-4 score. Blake Bontrager went six strong giving up two earned runs on six hits and London Schrock brought in four runs. Bontrager has paced the offense with a .429 batting average and 22 RBI.
