Flooding and severe storms have caused damage to homes across Iowa this spring, FEMA specialists are in Washington this week providing information on building houses stronger and safer. The Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, has teamed up with Ace-N-More to provide free information, tips, and literature on how to make houses and businesses stronger. FEMA mitigation specialists are at the Washington Ace-N-More this week. They will answer questions and offer home improvement proven methods to prevent and lessen damage in future disasters. The information is available for both general contractors and do-it-yourselfers. The reference booklets available are in both English and Spanish. Information available includes mold and mildew clean up, building a storm shelter, creating an emergency supply kit, and floodproofing for businesses. The mitigation specialists are at Washington’s Ace-N-More each day this week through Saturday.
