A Sigourney man was taken to the hospital following an early morning wreck Thursday.

According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, at 1 a.m. Thursday the Mt. Pleasant Police Department found a wrecked vehicle near the intersection of North Iowa Avenue and Highway 218. The driver was 31-year-old Cory Stevens of Sigourney. He was found away from the vehicle. Stevens was transported by ambulance to the Henry County Health Center with incapacitating injuries and then transferred to the University of Iowa Hospital. The crash is still under investigation by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.

Mount Pleasant Fire and Rescue, Henry County Health Center Paramedics, and the Mount Pleasant Police Department assisted at the scene.
