At least Mother Nature is consistent, right? The rainy weather trend continued into Tuesday on the first day of the class 1A girls state golf meet and caused play to be suspended halfway through in Marshalltown.

Columbus Community’s Aubrey Duncan does find herself in the thick of things after 10 holes of action. She shot an 11 over par 51 that put her in a tie for ninth before the rain was too heavy to finish the round. Annika Patton of Alta-Aurelia is in the lead through 13 holes shooting a five over par 58.

Day two hopes to be a long one, as Duncan will finish her final eight holes of round one and go straight into all 18-holes of round two. Tee time is set for 9:30 a.m. this morning at American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown.
