The stereotype of absolute quietness is broken at the Washington Public Library, which is a community gathering place and regularly plays host to concerts. The next noon-time concert will be held Thursday. These concerts are free and open to the public, and you’re welcome to bring your lunch with you. Librarian Allie Paarsmith invites people to attend, “We as a staff love it when we have a concert because it just provides this lovely ambience to our day and tends to bring more people in, we get to see more faces and talk to more people, and it’s wonderful.” The concert this Thursday is presented by Art Share with the University of Iowa with Katie Klcoke and Minji Kwon. The piano and violin will be presenting pieces by Ysaye, Franck, and Brahms. The concert begins at 12:15 p.m. on the second floor of the library.
