
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls track teams traveled to Camanche Thursday for the River Valley Conference championship meet.
The Golden Hawk girls finished as team runners-up with an overall score of 92 points. Cascade took the conference title with 113 points. The Golden Hawks had five championship events on the night including Marie Hostetler in the 800 and 1500 with times of 2:21.68 and 4:48.26 respectively. The Mid-Prairie 4×100 team of Amber Swart, Mitzi Evans, Maddie Edington and Abbagail Evans was a winner in 52.46 seconds. The sprint medley team of Edgington, Abbagail and Mitzi Evans and Amber Swart won gold in 1:52.50. The Golden Hawk 4×400 team was also a winner with Abbagail Evans, Cassidy Rourke, Swart and Hostetler. Other top finishes for the Golden Hawks included second for the 4×200 team of Swart, Rourke, Edgington and Abbagail Evans and third for Tori Boyse in the discus.
The Golden Hawk boys were fourth with 73 points. Bellevue won the team conference title with 138.5 points. Top finishes for the Golden Hawks included Elmir Ganibegovic finishing as runner-up in the 200 and 400, he was also third in the 100. Grant Boyse was third in the 400. Jack Baker was third in the discus and the 4×800 team of Quinn Schmidt, Brad Tornow, Miles Burrows and Justin Schwartz finished third.
The Mid-Prairie boys and girls track teams will be back in action Thursday in the district qualier meet at Eddyville-Blakesburg.
